What these trademarks have what general domains don't have ?(part 2)
That isn't that easy, but in the same time nor that hard to decipher. What these trademarks companies have is a very distinguishable Name, a Brand Name.
These trademarks - brand name domains have a reputation (mostly because of their professionalism, which is already incorporated as company rule no.1. and they are enforcing it rightly), so these domains have a wide areas for expanding their products/services solely through a name.
As competition to trademarks, general domain names in this sense are losing their general ability i.e. we as internet users in majority are visiting trademark websites and not general domain names when we are searching, looking for a specific products. Moreover, when searching for a specific products/services, generally we would go directly to that trademark website.
There is also evident a language/linguistic issue in the Internet – www world. This issue had plumped when ccTLDs came into living because these domain extensions had gave to all of the nations what belongs to them – their national language webspace. So this was a very rightly undertaking. I'm personally very pleased with that, people are just more happier because of that came into realization and reification.
In marketing, promotial, e-commerce(commerce), economic, industry sense this linguistic barriers momentarily can be resolved through translations to every national's language.
General domain names and trademarks are perceieving national extensions as a view of business expanding methods, although this way we are pulling many legal and formal questions e.g. trying to expand our business with the general domain names which are in the same hand the general terms-general domain names, over the borders is very hard because of the norms and rules which are binding us in particulary State or Country.
Moreover, it wouldn't be odd that these have already been taken. As Trademarks concerns, these would have an easier job, regarding claiming the domain names, but it's naturally that every country take care about the National interests.
From nationality aspect, due to the bare development; we differ two kind of a domain extensions or sufixes:
1. TLDs
2. ccTLDs
1. The right-most label in a domain name is referred to as its "top-level domain" (TLD).
Each TLD includes many different second-level domains (such as "DomaineMaster" in "www.DomaineMaster.com".
Most TLDs with three or more characters are referred to as "generic" TLDs, or "gTLDs". They can be subdivided into two types, "sponsored" TLDs (sTLDs) and "unsponsored TLDs (uTLDs), which i will describe more detailed in some of my next articles.
2. Country Code Top level domains are reffered to as TLDs with two letters (such as .de, .ec, .uk, .mx, .cn and .jp...etc.) have been established for over 240 countries and external territories and are referred to as "country-code" TLDs or "ccTLDs". They are delegated to designated managers, who operate the ccTLDs according to local policies that are adapted to best meet the economic, cultural, linguistic, and legal circumstances of the country or territory involved, so these are let's say in some sense country individual domains.
Here bellow you can see a list of some of the TLDs and ccTLDs:
